Second Improvement Notice served by the Healthcare Commission

The Healthcare commission has served a second improvement notice, this time on Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust, reports the Grauniad (here). Cleanliness standards and a lack of proper procedures for decontamination were cited as the reasons for the breaches (press release from the HCC here).  Anyone using a form of local decontamination such as a ‘Little Sister’ must have robust procedures and documentation trails in order to demonstrate safe practice. Better still, remove all of these weak links in the decontamination chain
